The cutting plate has a base body with base surface (3) facing a conical sleeve shaped surface section (4a) and forming a cutting edge (5) at an acute angle thereto. A planar surface section (4b) forms an obtuse angle with the opposite base face. The cone axis of the conical surface section lying in the plate plane by forming an eccentrically curved path of the cutting edge runs parallel and off set to the central plate axis which lies in the same plate plane. Independent claim describes milling tool with several cutting plates spread out round tool holder whereby the cutting plate is off set from the centre line.
