The flexible inner sole for a shoe comprises several layers forming an insert body, with a central layer consisting of a wooden sheet and a lower layer of textile material. A cover layer (1), at least in the area of the ball of a foot (4) as far as a foot point (5), is adhered to the central layer with an upper side (11) for contact with a foot. The central layer (2) in the rear foot area is freely located with an upper side (12) for foot contact. The cover layer (1) is of textile material with a mesh width of less than 5 mm.
