The bearing unit, for the rotating disks (3-6) supporting the rotor shaft (8) of an open-end spinner rotor (9), has a sleeve housing to carry the bearing axes (10,11) which project from its ends. There are two rows of ball bearings, with the inner race directly in the bearing axis and the outer race directly in the bearing sleeve housing. The bearing axes have a constant diameter of 7.5-8.0 mm, except for the inner ball races. The balls of the ball bearings have a diameter of 3.1-3.2 mm. The center points of the bearing balls run on a diameter of 10.0-10.5 mm.
