Hoisting large symmetrics by tackle equipment involves lashpoints at both ends of part to take ropes or chains plus lashpoint on part rear facilitated by winch reversals.
Near the top end of the part (2) being lifted and symmetric to the center axis of the projecting base circle, lashpoints (3,4) are fitted on each side of the part and a further lashpoint (5) is fitted at the bottom end on the part (2) center axis. Lifting gear comprises two ropes or chains (6,7) of equal length to engage the lashpoints (3,5) and a further rope or chain (8) for lashpoint (5), the ropes meeting at point (9). The rear side has a further lashpoint (10) in its center or highest point. Rope or chain (8) run off winch or pulley (11) and if winch then this can be operated by hand or program. To tip or swing the part from horizontal to vertical, all three lifting ropes (6-8) start of equal length and hook into their lashpoints (3-5). The hoist slowly raises rope (8), then lets this out free of its load so the part can be connected to lashpoint (10) to site, adjusting part attitude by rope (8).
