The device has press plates (2), each with heating channel system and separate steam channel system (4), and steam outlets (5) in the plate surface. The steam channels are formed by grooves (7) in the plate surface, and these are covered by a detachable pressure plate (10) having the steam outlets. The grooves have a polygonal cross section, pref. rectangular or square. The pressure plate has a thickness of 2-10mm, pref. 4-6mm, and a structured surface.
