The arrangement uses two active edge vectors of an associated 60 degree sector adjacent to an optional reference voltage vector in combination with a vector complementary to both edge vectors to simulate the reference vector. Control pulses are arranged in a pulse period so the pulse with the longest on period and that with the shortest on period are sequential and that with the mean on period is corrected to enable reference vector simulation.
