Dosing of a liquid reducing agent for removing nitrogen oxides from the exhaust gases of a diesel engine comprises introducing a prescribed quantity of reducing agent using a dosing valve (2) into the exhaust gas of the diesel engine. Gas bubbles containing reducing agent appearing at the input-side of the dosing valve are removed by cooling the reducing agent to condense gaseous reducing agent phases. An Independent claim is also included for a device for carrying out the above process.
