Caller identification method for telecommunications network uses subscriber devices linked to a central server with data records each with a call-up number for identifying a caller

Subscriber devices (SD) each link to a central server (CS) that has a database with data records each with a call-up number and associated identification data for identifying a caller. An SD for a number called sends a request to the CS for identification data belonging to a call-up number if a call arrives on the SD of the number called. The request is received via the CS. A database is checked to determine request results and a response sent to match these results. Independent claims are also included for the following; (1) a system for identifying a caller in a telecommunications network linked to subscriber devices, (2) for a central server for carrying out the method of the present invention, (3) for a subscriber device for carrying out the method of the present invention, (4) for a computer program executed with computer instructions.
