Heat insulating component used in the hot gas path of gas turbines consists of a component made from a metallic support having a front surface subjected to high temperatures and a cooled rear surface
Heat insulating component consists of a component made from a metallic support (1) having a front surface (3) subjected to temperatures of more than 700 deg C and a cooled rear surface (4). Ceramic fibers (2) aligned vertically to the front surface are fixed on the front surface, and a network of parallel aligned gaps joined together is formed between the fibers. Preferred Features: The fibers are made from an oxide ceramic, preferably aluminum oxide, zirconium oxide, silicon oxide, magnesium oxide and/or titanium oxide. The fibers have a round, oval or polygonal cross-section. The fibers have pores with a porosity of 1-90 %.
