Product ordering method using an online electronic market place that is linked to a local inventory management system with a lookup table created to link different product codes in the two systems

Method for ordering products using a local product management system with a first database containing local product codes and an ordering system provided in a global computer network with a second database with global product codes. According to the method, a lookup table is provided linking the two databases, an order code is input in the order system, a check is carried out to determine if the code exists in the lookup table and if it does, alteration of the order code to that of the local system. An Independent claim is included for a corresponding system.
