Method for identifying antigens, useful for raising antibodies or for loading antigen-presenting cells, from reaction of cell lysate with serum and separating immune complexes

Identifying antigens from their reaction with antibodies in serum, is new. Identifying antigens (Ag) comprises: (a) preparing a protein lysate (A) from cellular test material of a donor; (b) incubating (A) with allogenic, xenogenic and/or autologous serum, ascites or pleural fluids that contain antibodies (Ab); (c) separation of the Ab-Ag complexes formed; and (d) identifying specifically bound Ag. Ab are formed during a humoral immune response to an (auto)antigen.
