The profiled assembly member has a contact bearing surface (8) against which the fixing flange (4) of the window can be braced. A support projection (9) protrudes over the bearing face and the lower longitudinal edge (6) of the fixing flange is supported against this. A hook (10) adjoining the bearing face and opposite the support projection engages round the upper longitudinal edge (5) of the fixing flange when this is supported on the projection. The support projection can extend along the entire length of the assembly member.
