A device for the observation of cells and tissues under typical stimulation conditions comprising a culture chamber providing electrical stimulation and mechanical movement, in which the cells are held on a carrier, is new. Electrical stimulation is provided through electrodes, while the cell carrier is moved mechanically. The chamber contains both a culture medium and a gas phase.
