The fire extinguisher system, for a road tunnel, has a hose or double pipe in the roof filled with an extinguishing agent, over the road ways. The hose is opened automatically at the site of a fire. The hose is supplied with the extinguishing agent from elevated tanks installed at the tunnel entrance and/or firefighting vehicles using a liquid, gas or solid fire extinguisher.
