Acquiring mass spectra of improved materials in mass spectrometers in which several single spectra are digitally received and added to the spectra sum, comprising removing electronic noise from the single spectra before adding to the spectra sum, is new. An Independent claim is also included for a transient recorder for receiving and adding mass spectra.
