Post-treatment agent for moist concrete includes a two-component water-soluble acrylic resin system including (parts) (a) a component containing water-soluble acrylic acid and/or methacrylic acid derivatives or a mixture of such derivatives (40-60) and water (60-40); and (b) a component containing a salt of a peroxy acid (0.5-10) and water (99.5-90). An Independent claim is also included for preparation of a water-repellant coating for application to the surface of fresh concrete using the post-treatment agent, where components (a) and (b) are mixed in predetermined ratio and, after smoothing the surface of the fresh concrete, the mixture containing the acrylic resin system is applied.
