Intra-aortal pump system has an axial pump (1) driven by an electric motor. The pump is inserted into the heart via a punctured hole in the heart apex (6) using an adjustable guide and support bracket (5). The pump is then pushed through the aorta valve into the rising aorta (12), where a short tube (3) sucks blood from the left heart chamber and pumps it through the closed aorta valve into the aorta.
