The device has an actuator arrangement extending along and variable in length by a control signal in a preferred direction and a kinetic arrangement for converting actuator arrangement movement in preferred direction into movement in a preferred transverse direction. The flexible kinetic arrangement has stiffened supporting surfaces on parallel upper and lower sides normal to the preferred direction. The device has an actuator arrangement (3) extending along a preferred direction (X) of the actuator and variable in length in the preferred direction by a control signal and a kinetic arrangement (4) for converting the movement of the actuator arrangement in the preferred direction into a movement in a preferred transverse direction (Y). The kinetic arrangement is flexible and has stiffened supporting surfaces on the parallel upper and lower sides normal to the preferred direction. The actuator arrangement is of shape-memory material, stimulatable polymer gels and/or piezoelectric material.
