Detection of apoptosis induction, comprising: (a) fixing cells to be studied; (b) permeabilizing the outer membrane to maintain organelle structure; (c) staining cells with a fluorochrome compound; (d) measuring individual cells by flow cytometry while stimulating the compound; and (e) determining the fluorescent strength of the cells, is new. Detection of apoptosis induction by measuring the release of substances from cell organelles mitochondria and/or endoplasmic reticulum by flow cytometry, comprising: (a) fixing the cells to be studied; (b) permeabilizing the outer membrane to maintain organelle structure; (c) staining the cells with fluorochrome compound that binds specifically to substance(s) to be detected in mitochondria and/or endoplasmic reticulum; (d) measuring individual cells by flow cytometry while stimulating the compound; and (e) determining the fluorescent strength of the cells, is new.
