Rapid production of large casting molds comprises using a crude casting part having a series-identical casting and injection system embedded into the mold using CAD. The casting mold is segmented and divided into basic segments using simple regular geometric molds with defined dimensions. The geometry, mutual position and other geometrical relationships are stored in a 3D CAD data set. The joining and fitting surfaces provided with locking elements are molded using a modeling device. An Independent claim is also included for a building system for the rapid production of large casting molds. Preferred Features: The locking elements have measuring points which are keyed by a cutting machine or robot during cutting of the free molding surfaces.
