The sub-caliber projectile (5), to be loaded into the breech (2) of a gun barrel (1), has a driving band (10) at the full-caliber barrel. A sealing ring (14) is at the driving band for obturation of the breech, using a plastics material which is destroyed at least at the leading section (15) by the conical transit between the breech and the barrel (3) as the projectile moves towards the muzzle.
