Device for detecting objects (5) with an optoelectronic recording device with a sensor array focussed on the object via an objective. A point light source is used to illuminate the object and is then imaged on the photosensitive surface of the sensor array (4). The objective is made from a number of structured elements with different transparency levels so that the objects to be detected can be effectively differentiated from the imaged point light sources. The invention also relates to a corresponding optoelectronic recording unit.
