The vehicle has a start switch for starting/stopping an internal combustion engine and an electrically activated immobiliser that locks an important part for operating the vehicle when active. The immobiliser has a locking circuit (7) for activating it and the start switch has a switch element (9) in the locking circuit that is opened after starting the engine and closed after stopping the engine.
