Testing of combustion engines, especially fuel injected petrol engines, by determining operating parameters for a desired measurement range so that the number of required measurement points can be reduced

Method for combustion engine testing in which a set of measurement points (1-3) with given load and rotational velocity are defined. A set of operating parameters are defined for each measurement point, e.g. injection time, ignition time, suction pressure, fuel pressure, etc. The optimum examination area is determined from the predetermined measurement points and corresponding operating parameters. An Independent claim is included for a corresponding device for combustion engine testing.
