The lectern desk (2) above the two-part (5,6) housing (4) is hinged (10) to a support as engaged by first and second telescoping adjusters for desk height and desk angle respectively. The desk hinge lies at the reader side of the desk and the desk support consists of a plate recessed for engagement by the respective adjusters. The first adjuster for desk height bears below on an horizontal supporting wall and above via a support on the support plate specified. The support plate also has a bearer for the second adjuster for desk angle, this bearer in turn rigidly joined to a bottom adjuster component.
