In a photographic material with a base and light-sensitive layer(s) containing silver halide iodide emulsion(s), the layer contains a mono-, di- or tri-(dithiocarboxy)-(het)arene (I) and the emulsion is sensitized with a sulfur, selenium or tellurium sensitizer that is not a compound (I). In a photographic material with a base and light-sensitive layer(s) containing silver halide iodide emulsion(s), the layer contains a mono-, di- or tri-(dithiocarboxy)-(het)arene of formula (I) and the emulsion is sensitized with a sulfur, selenium or tellurium sensitizer that is not a compound (I).
