Till system comprises a central unit or PC with a non-volatile mass storage unit or hard drive, a serial peripheral interface and a hub connected to the central unit via the interface. A second mass storage unit is connected to the hub for mirroring of at least a part of the data of the first storage unit. The invention relates particularly to use of a USB interface and hub as means for connection of peripherals. An Independent claim is made for a method for operating a till system in which at least a part of a mass storage unit or hard drive is copying to a mirror unit.
