Method for reducing the noise emission of a noise source such as a hydraulic unit (1) in a motor vehicle. Accordingly the unit is enclosed in a foam housing (2) that is matched to its shape. An Independent claim is made for an assembly incorporating a noise source that is equipped with a one- piece housing (2).
