Method for measuring the surface roughness of hard dental tissue, fillings or prosthetic material. Accordingly the surface to be tested is evaluated during treatment of the surface using a hard object. Thus the sound generated during processing of the surface using drills, de-scalers, etc., is used to evaluate its surface roughness.
