The combustion chamber assembly (12) has a housing in which is a combustion chamber (16) defined by a wall (14). The combustion chamber has an outlet opening (24) for the combustion exhaust gases to a flame pipe (26). The burner has a steering control to feed some of the exhaust gases along at least a part of the exterior face (44) of the combustion chamber wall in front of the flame tube inlet.
