The module (1) incorporates a bearing housing (10) holding a bearing (4) for the wheel hub (5). There is a disk brake caliper (2) with pads engaging a disk (7) whose central part is dished (8) to form a brake drum (32). The drum brake (3) has normal brake shoes (30) which engage the inside surface of the cylindrical drum and are spread apart by a normal brake actuating mechanism (31).
