Method has the following steps: application of a sequence of electrical excitation signals of varying frequency to the tissue section; measurement of the response (102); further processing of the response to obtain input values for a localization step (110); and modeling of the tissue section for determination of a set of guide fields (104). The location of the lesion is determined from the input values and the guide fields using a projection method.
