The wheel bearing fastening comprises a bearing (2) installed on a wheel hub (3) which is penetrated by a center bolt (5) equipped with a nut (9). A centering clamp ring (15) is in contact with the bearing and stands away from the center bolt and its nut. The clamp ring has a conical face (14) which makes contact at least in areas with the bearing. The centering clamp ring has a female thread (17) by which it is screwed onto a male thread (18) on the wheel hub. An Independent claim is included for a wheel bearing assembly which has a bearing constructed in one piece.
