Hyper-branched polymers with isocyanate-reactive end groups and no ester linkages are used as component (c) in a method for the production of dendritically-modified polyurethanes (I) by reacting di- and/or poly-isocyanates (a) with compound(s) which react with isocyanate groups (b) and component (c). Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) dendritically-modified polyurethanes (I); (2) coating materials (II) containing (I); (3) substrates coated with (II); and (4) a method for the production of 2-component polyurethane adhesives by using (I) as binders.
