The system has a charging air cooler (14) arranged between a compressor (11) and a fuel cell (2) in an oxidant feed line (8) and a bypass line (19) arranged parallel to a cooler (18) in a fuel cell coolant circuit (16) so that a coolant pump (17), cooling chambers (10) and the opposite side of the charging air cooler are arranged in a short-circuit circuit formed by the bypass line. The system has a fuel cell with fuel and oxidant feed and outlet lines and cooling chambers, a compressor and charging air cooler in the oxidant feed line. The cooling chambers are arranged with a cooler, a coolant pump and the opposite side of the charging air cooler in a fuel cell coolant circuit with a valve-controlled bypass line. The charging air cooler (14) is arranged between the compressor (11) and fuel cell (2) in the oxidant feed line (8) and the bypass line (19) is arranged parallel to the cooler (18) in the fuel cell coolant circuit (16) so that the coolant pump (17), cooling chambers (10) and opposite side of the charging air cooler are arranged in a short-circuit circuit formed by the bypass line.
