The network connection unit (AE) is connected via a first interface (SSA) to an interface unit (SE), connected in turn via a second interface (SSM) to memory (ZMEM). A further interface (SSC) connects with the central control unit (MPC). The interface unit (SE) is designed such that information in data packets (DP) transmitted to or received from the communications network, (KN) is stored in the memory unit (ZMEM). This information comprises useful- and routing information (ni, ri). Routing information (ri) can be called up independently of the useful information (ni). It is transmissible between memory (ZMEM) and central control unit (MPC) via the interface unit (SE).
