The handle comprises a folding grip with a grip end pivotally connected in the guide bolt region to a pivot bearing extending transverse to the bolt rotation axis. The grip has a resting position folded away in the casement or door leaf profile and when in this position the free end of the grip can be gripped by hand and swung out into a working position. The grip piece connected to the free end of the grip can be gripped by hand in order to rotate the guide bolt. The casement or door leaf contains a gear which is moved between locking and released positions by a guide bolt (15) operated by the rotary handle.
