The pivot system for a folding roof for a car allows the rear section (2) of the roof to be lowered under the front section (4) when the roof is opened. The rear section is mounted on front (6) and back (7) levers attached by pivots (8 - 11) to the roof and car bodywork. The front lever has a U-, V- or C-shape and fits against the rear section when the roof is closed.
