Each operation roll (2) is supported by respective intermediate roll (3) which is supported by the reinforcement rolls (4). The diameter of the operation roll (Dw) is set in the range 300 + 50 * (Wmax-1200)/300 = Dw = 375 + 50 * (Wmax-1200)/300, where Wmax is the maximum width of the rolling material. The diameter of intermediate roll (Di) is set in the range Dw = Di = 450+75 * (Wmax-1200)/300. The operation roll drive units rotate each operation roll. The operation and intermediate rolls are equipped with respective roll bending system. The diameter of the reinforcement roll (Db) is set in the range 1000 + 100*(Wmax - 1200)/300 = Db = 1300 + 100 * (Wmax-1200)/300. The sum of the diameter of the operation roll and the intermediate roll is in the range 650 = 100 * (Wmax-1200)/300 = Dw+Di = 825 + 125 * (Wmax-1200)/300. The sum of the diameter of the operation, intermediate and the reinforcement rolls satisfies the condition Dw+Di+Db = 1925+225 * (Wmax-1200)/300. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) tandem-type rolling installation; (2) reversible-type rolling installation; (3) rolling method; and (4) reconstruction method of rolling mill.
