It is a process for the production of thin, crimped cables of loy -, poy - or foy - filaments having a total linear density in a range of from 2 to 9 ktex is described, in which the filaments of coils, which are applied on a bobbin creel, is drawn off, and are provided with a preparation, then a drawing or as a function of the voltage supply is carried out uniformly and then after a heating, a crimping is carried out of the upsetting. The method can be carried out on-line with numerous further processing. The cables are particularly suitable for the production of textile hygiene articles such as diapers, sanitary napkins, inserts and incontinence pants and the like.
