Pouch (1) for protecting a seal (7) on a book (11) or document has an opening at the top for introducing the seal and latches on the edge. Openings at the top and bottom allow the ribbon (8- 10) to protrude in both directions. An Independent claim is included for a method for making the pouch from strips of material in which their edges are ultrasonically welded.
