The magnet system for the loudspeaker has a flat cup-shaped magnet (3) which is circular with a raised rim. A magnet disk (2) and a pole plate (1) are mounted on the magnet disk. There is an narrow gap (5) between the flange of the magnet and the pole plate to accommodate a circular coil (12). The coil carrier (10) is connected (14) to a flexible mounting strip (16) and the edge of a vibrating dome (20) covering the magnet system. The coil carrier is cylindrical with a regular array of circular holes (26c). A support for the inner edge of the flexible mounting strip (26) is shaped as a shallow dish with a central spigot and has apertures in its edge (26b). Air can circulate from outside (24) the loudspeaker to the space inside (22).
