The rotor (5) of the electrical machine may be a disk or a longitudinally-extending rail with permanent magnets (6) with alternate N and S poles. The stator parts (1,2) are positioned on either side of the rotor. The stator parts consist of packets of metal laminae with electric coils (3,4) to generate magnetic fields. The coils on either side of the rotor are staggered and are fed with alternating currents (I1,I2) with a 120 degrees phase difference.
