To form fine droplets in gases, the liquid for the distribution is subjected to gases and/or light volatile fluids before and/or during the mixing at a pressure of 10-5000 bar and preferably 50-500 bar. It is saturated at least partially to achieve a surface tension of at most0.015 N/m and preferably at most0.005 N/m. The liquid (1) is delivered by a pump (3), and the gas (2) is brought to the required pressure in a compressor (4). The liquid and gas flows are combined in a static mixer (5) to give a mixture (6).
