Elastic connector (1) between a carburetor and an inlet channel (3) in an internal combustion engine of a hand-held machine tool comprises an extending fold which can be extended from a folded position (a) into an extended position. The extending fold divides the connector into a carburetor-side channel section (6) having a circular cross-section and a motor-side channel section (7) having a non-circular cross-section at the end facing the internal combustion engine. When the extending fold is folded, the connector has an essentially constant flow cross-section over its entire length. Preferred Features: The connector has in the region of the extending fold a sealing lip (8) and a seal seat (9) which lie against each other in an extensively fluid-tight manner when the extending fold is folded.
