The across-track seafloor slope is calculated using bathymetry data, to incorporate correction factor in actual sound beam arrival angles. The seafloor area is calculated to measure acoustic backscatter strength data at 1degrees angle. A composite sediment volume roughness model is created by curve fitting the measured backscatter data. The validity of the created model is verified by comparing with theoretical model.
