World wide web search method in which URLs identified by a search machine are processed to determine if any of the addresses point to web pages with essentially the same content

Automatic search method for a client-server network (WWW), especially the world wide web, in which a user (7) inputs a search request via a client station that calls up a search machine (1) from which searched for information is delivered back to the user. Before delivery of addresses corresponding to the input search the addresses are processed so that the pages of addresses that have similar content above a given threshold can be identified. The invention also relates to a corresponding search machine and server on which the search machine runs.
