One or more devices are installed on the yacht or ship and are in radio communication with devices carried on the bodies of all persons on board. When the radio connection is interrupted, the alarm is triggered, e.g. when the antennal of the transmitter worn on the body goes under water, and the distance between transmitter and receiver increases. Signals form individual transmitters are differentiated at a central receiver, and the alarm is triggered as soon as a signal is absent.
