The locking tongue (10) has an insertion part (11) for reception in the seatbelt closure clasp and a deflection device for the seatbelt web, provided by bending a sheet metal strip (17) back on itself to form a housing for reception of a deflection roller, the sheet metal strip having openings for passage of the seatbelt web. The insertion part has a flat section (16) clamped between the opposite ends (18,19) of the sheet metal strip and secured by a fixing, e.g. a rivet (24), passing through the latter.
