An optical assessing device (1) has an optical probe (OS) in the form of an endoscope (E) for generating an intermediate image (ZW) of an object to be assessed, which is scanned in the direction of its optical axis as the object being assessed moves in a set direction (z) and the endoscope moves together with specific components for a microscope lens (MO).
